The Power of Interaction and Relationship: A Diagram

Those of us in the communication field often talk about the power of interaction and relationship to create remarkable transformations (e.g., in perceptions, in organizations, in conflict, in society, and so on). At a current exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, entitled “Inventing Abstraction: 1910-1925,” we get to see a visual map of how relationships and interactions transformed the art world. As an adjunct to the exhibit, a diagram was created to show the connections among various artists at the forefront of the abstract art movement, in various disciplines, from all over the world. This diagram vividly illustrates how an artistic movement was transformed through relationship and interaction, rather than from the work of any one “solitary genius.” It is definitely worth a look!
